What is a sustainable society?
A sustainable society is one in which "the earth and its natural resources are properly preserved, and development is being carried out to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising those of future generations."
If environmental problems, poverty and widening income disparities are left unchecked, humanity will not be able to maintain its economic growth nor build healthy societies. With this awareness of issues, efforts toward becoming a more sustainable society are spreading all over the world.
